Krampus: The Devil Returns (2016), the second Krampus film by Jason Hull, too bad he couldn’t get some real actors as was with Krampus (2015), but I guess they all can’t be gems. It was so bad, I couldn’t watch more than ten minutes, so I moved onto Christmas Slay (2015) written and directed by Steve Davis, which was slightly better in the acting department and I didn’t turn it off.
Strange things they missed in Christmas Slay was the sound effects of the slashing of the knife as it cut into flesh, which is a very important piece of slasher movies. I don’t hate this movie, but I just don’t understand with the need for the extended filler scenes that occupied so much space. I guess without it, it would’ve been considered a “short”.
Even with all it’s faults and bland periods, I enjoyed Christmas Slay, but can only give it 2.5 out of 5 Stars.
