There are many things in life that I don’t understand, and It Comes At Night (2017) makes that list. I wasn’t sure what was happening most of the time, maybe I should’ve stopped watching it early on, but I didn’t, I pushed through hoping there’d be a revelation.
I did get the fact that this was a sort of post-apocalyptic movie with a virus. No other explanation was every given as to what or why or how. They only wear gasmasks at night or when they think someone around them is sick; why at night? The movie is called It Comes At Night, but what is it? Thinking about it, my mind goes to the Faith No More song, Epic (1989).
What killed the dog? So many questions that I’ll never get answered. It Comes At Night did have some good old-fashioned thrill scenes, but not enough to allow me to give it more than 3 out of 5 Stars.
