#Gay #Thriller #Movie Review – B&B (2017)

The only other gay horror/thriller that I’ve seen was a typical slasher that I loved, however today, I’m not talking about that one, I’m talking about B&B (2017). The English countryside setting is charming, even the house has potential to make a fun little gothic tale or even a vampire flick. If it’d been either, it might have been better as it’s not what I expected it to be.

Our protagonists, gay couple, Marc and Fred, return to a B&B where they were discriminated against to celebrate their one year anniversary; um, OK. The minimal backstory tells that the couple won the lawsuit, and they are there to rub it into the owner’s, Josh, nose. Some queens are like that, I get it. The dryness of the scene fades away quickly when a Russian man, Alexie checks into the B&B.

Fred thinks that Alexie is there to harass them, Josh thinks the man is gay, too. Trying to figure out the truth about Alexie is the primary focus for a lot of the film, even after he is killed. The strange of the movie thickens with every scene. Then they throw a twist I wasn’t expecting at all, oh, and another. When it is over, I can’t help but think of all the different movies with similar plot twists though. Not that it’s bad, I liked the movie, but it’ll never make my list to watch again. Maybe, I should’ve talked about the other movie I hinted about at the beginning.

I give B&B 3 out of 5 Stars.
