Creature Feature Pt 3 – Bride of Frankenstein (1935)

Bride of Frankenstein (1935) is one of my favorites from the era, it adds a layer to Frankenstein’s Monster. He’s totally misjudged by everyone. He just wants to be treated like everyone else, and the only one who does is the blind man, but that’s short lived. Then there’s crazy-ass Doctor Pretorius, who’s somehow made little people and keeps them in jars, then befriends the Monster and uses him to force Dr. Frankenstein to him create a woman.

Elsa Lancaster is phenomenal as the Bride. Her bird-like movements and choreography are beautiful and chilling, then she screams and it’s heaven. I wish there was more of her except the last ten to fifteen minutes.

The iconic hair, the make-up, the gown, I can’t get enough. I give this 4.5 out of 5 Stars.
