Butchers (2020) #HorrorMovie Review

I really liked the beginning of Butchers (2020), it had good frights, then it went to a videotape excursion of some teenagers. I thought, dang it, it’s a found footage film. Turns out it wasn’t and I’m glad I gave it a chance. It’s a nice combination of Wrong Turn and Texas Chainsaw with blood flowing freely.

butchers_pOwen and Oswald Watson appeared to be cannibals at first look, but as the movie progressed, I questioned if that were the case, then Owen reveals the truth (I’ll try to keep spoilers at bay, so you can enjoy this bloodbath). Oswald is a little slow, and I’m still not sure if it’s uneducated or if it’s a mental deficiency, while Owen is the brains of the two brothers. Then there’s a beastie locked in the barn.

The typical thing that happens is the car breaking down in the middle of nowhere and the group of friends splitting up. Well, we know how that turns out in this type of film. At least there’s some difference in how Butchers is done, it doesn’t seem to follow the formula exactly.

4 Stars

I enjoyed Butchers and gave it 4 out of 5 Stars.

Butchers (2020) serves up some great gore but the story isn't anything new. Click To Tweet
