The Invisible Man (2020) #Unexpected #Scares

Blumhouse, how you vex me. Sometimes your horror movies are so dull I want to put my head in the blender, while others, like The Invisible Man (2020), keep a steady tension that is so good, I have a hard time realizing that two hours have passed.

Invisible Man posterWhile The Invisible Man is a remake, the only similarities to the original are that he’s invisible, he’s a man, and he’s a scientist of sorts. I was on the fence about seeing it, but I’m glad that I did. The story is about a woman who leaves her gaslighting husband. As the story progresses, the people around her think she might be losing her mind, which would probably happen under the circumstances of what he’s doing.

Of course, there are parts of the movie that could’ve been edited out as it was a bit long in the tooth for me. The effects were what I expect from modern horror with weak CGI, but at least there wasn’t much of it; it reminded me of Spiderman.

3.5 Stars

I surprisingly liked The Invisible Man and gave it 3.5 out of 5 Stars.
