The Curse of Humpty Dumpty (2021) brings a new take of the old nursery rhyme that was a little strange for me at times. The story is about a woman who was diagnosed with Dementia, and her daughters take her back to their manor for a break in hopes that helps remember things.
Remember she did, and those things she blocked in her mind come to the surface in a barrage of terror. Films with a creepy doll that come to life are always fun, and this one takes it to a new level. Apparently, there’s a witch cult that worshiped Humpty Dumpty, who promised eternal life.
The eternal question, though, is Humpty Dumpty making the kills or is it the woman. I guess that is left up to the viewer to determine as both, in this story, are plausible. The gore in this one isn’t over the top, and I wish they would’ve given it a little more love. One thing that really bothered me was in the closing sequence and one of the corpses was breathing. It wasn’t just one chest rise and fall it was several.
In the end, I enjoyed this twisted tale of Humpty Dumpty and gave it 3.5 out of 5 Stars.
