When I started watching Prey (2019), I had no idea what it was, and then as I continued, I realized that I’d seen bits and pieces of it before just didn’t know what it was. It’s about Toby, who goes to a remote island to reconnect with the world after his father’s tragic death.
Madeleine lives on the island that’s supposed to be deserted, and she makes a bond with Toby. There’s also something else on the island that doesn’t like outsiders, and that’s what makes this film fun. I just wish they would’ve shown it more.
When the twist comes, I was shocked because I made assumptions along the way; I’m happy that I wasn’t expecting it. There’s minimal gore, but that’s OK because the suspense level makes up for it.
I enjoyed Prey and gave it 3.5 out of 5 Stars.
