I think this place is possessed by demonic demons. Jack
As with many horror films and not just from the 1980s, Scarecrows (1988) isn’t one that can be taken too seriously. I’m not telling you not to watch it. I’m just saying that you might not get the enjoyment value of the film if you expect too much.
Rather than having the cheesy goodness all by itself, they threw in some corn. Well, I guess it is set in an old farm with a cornfield, so made it was appropriate; it’s about dead Satanist farmers who possess scarecrows.
The gore and slasher effects are very good, as are the scarecrow costumes. The dialogue wasn’t written very well if it was written at all. The acting at least wasn’t the worst. Then there’s the storyline; I wouldn’t call it a plot because that’d be giving it too much credit. There’s a lot of running around the woods and cornfield when they should’ve stayed in the house; the stolen money will be there in the morning.
I thought I was going to give Scarecrows a higher rating, but by the time I finished writing this, I just couldn’t bring myself to give it more than 2.5 out of 5 Stars.
