Excellent. They’re even more violent than I imagined. Our customers will be pleased.
Mutant Hunt (1987) is a Tim Kincaid film, and like so many of his B-Movie hits it has the 80s porn soundtrack thumping in the background. Of course, there’s a good reason for that, but I won’t bring that up now. The low-budget sets look like the same warehouse all his movies were filmed; totally not a bad thing, I love the ingenuity.
Now, if you ever wondered what would happen if cyborgs used drugs, this movie will answer that question. Euphoron is the drug of choice in this strange world, and it turns the cyborgs into psychosexual killers. The story isn’t anything, but what it lacks is made up by the incredible script filled with some of the best one liners. The technology in this one is innovative, too. I mean, they have smartwatches.
Relax it was a pleasure droid…last year’s model.
Matt Riker (Rick Gianasi) has some mad Kung Fu moves and throws some great kicks all the while his dangly bits don’t pop out of his tidy whiteys; just amazing. The stunt work is like classic Kung Fu movies and they have the sound effects to match. Then there’s Johnny Felix kicking ass like Chuck Norris with so many roundhouse kicks, I was getting dizzy.
Well that’s real sentimental, but I’d want my usual fee.
This has creepy horror moments with the makeup effects and these nasty cyborgs reviving. A lot of imagination went into this one, and I was surprised. Whomever thought of a cyborg having arms like Stretch Armstrong is a genius. Another surprise was the lack of sex, it was implied in several spots and started but quickly ended, and they did not end with an orgy.
Before I wrap this up, I need to address the elephant in the room. If you see Mutant Hunt, you are going to notice right away that the acting is like bad 80s porn, actually, it might be worse than that. At times, my standards sink to lows that I don’t think are possible when I like something. The thing is, if it holds my interest, I don’t care if the acting is bad, in fact, that adds to the greatness of the B for me.
Mutant Hunt is just something that I couldn’t stop once it started, and I give it 4 out of 5 Stars.
