#GrossOut #Extravaganza - Night of Something Strange (2016)

As my norm, I never read reviews for any films before I watch them. With Night of Something Strange (2016) I followed this procedure, and wish that I would’ve given myself some sort of warning of what I was about to see, then again, I might not have watched it.

If you don’t know what a gross-out movie is, this probably isn’t a good one to start with in your mission of enlightenment. Most other films of this sub-genre are comedy, and while Night of Something Strange has comical aspects, it is stifled by an extreme amount of filth from what I’ve seen with others. I’m not saying this is a bad movie, quite the opposite, I got a kick out of it, even when it dragged on for longer than it should.

I’m impressed with the fact that the creators touched on things that many don’t, including authors. I, on the other hand, plunged into the depravity of necrophilia in my short story Your Time Will Come. The idea of horny zombies is an element I wasn’t expecting, though it did make me laugh. The visuals aren’t something that I’ll quickly get out of my mind. There was one thing that didn’t fit for me, and was a strange transition in the film.

I applaud the creators of Night of Something Strange for pushing the pedal to the metal, and leaving me to look like Edvard Munch’s The Scream when it was over.

I’m in love with Night of Something Strange and give it 4 out of 5 Stars.
