Chinese, Japanese, Dirty Knees, Look at these. “Baby” Firefly
I loved Rob Zombie’s 2003 House of 1000 Corpses, and this sequel kept me just as intrigued and delighted. After the police raid their homestead, Baby and Otis escape and wait for Captain Spaulding at the Kahiki Palms motel. The couple’s psychosis continues as they take a traveling roadshow hostage in a motel room.
This movie reminds of growing up in the 70s and hearing the hysteria of cults, and their dangers. As a little kid it was
unnerving, and this movie pretty much shows what I imagined back then, crazy people doing crazy things. Growing up in a small Wyoming town, people thought our neighbors were in a cult; I don’t know if they were or not, all I remember of them is that the young women rarely wore tops.
The problem I had with this movie was that it went of course after Baby, Otis, and Spaulding leave the motel. It’s like Rob lost direction, and the story went into a completely different direction, which wasn’t a bad thing, but the transition was awkward for a moment.
This is a great sequel and movie, you should check it out. Don’t worry if you haven’t seen House of 1000 Corpses, it stands on its just fine. I give it 4 out of 5 Stars.
